Warriors guard Stephen Curry didn’t play in Charlotte against the Hornets on Saturday because he was “feeling unwell,” the team announced.
The absence was not related to coronavirus protocols. Curry was pulled out minutes before the tip and replaced in the lineup by guard Mychal Mulder.
This is the third time in the past four years that Curry has missed playing in his hometown of Charlotte after missing most of the past season recovering from a broken hand. He played in Charlotte in 2018, but missed the trip in 2017 with another injury.
In the midst of an MVP-caliber campaign, Curry has averaged 29.9 points on 48.6% shooting (42.3% from 3-point range) and 6.2 assists in 34.1 minutes per game this season.
