1 killed after several pedestrians boarded car in Portland, Oregon


At least six people were taken to the hospital.

According to the Portland Police Bureau, one person was killed, while one died after being hit by several vehicles in several blocks in Portland, Oregon on Monday.

According to Portland Fire and Rescue, five others were rushed to hospitals with non-serious injuries. There are more victims who did not require medical transport.

According to police, the incident occurred at 1:02 pm local time when a Honda Element drove pedestrians and vehicles from Southeast 33rd Avenue and Stark Street to Southeast 13th Avenue.

Authorities said at a press conference Monday afternoon that after their car crashed, the driver fled on foot, but was stopped by members of the community.

At this time, the suspect’s motive has not been determined and no other information about the suspect has been released by police.

Police have not publicly identified the victims.
